With the ranking I received after completing the QIBT Diploma of Design, I could have transferred directly into the Bachelor of Commerce at Griffith University. However, I chose to come back to QIBT because I enjoyed the environment so much and by undertaking the Diploma program first, I am able to try out the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce to see if I like it before transferring to second year. This also means I can graduate with both a Diploma and a Bachelor degree qualification in less than three years!

The QIBT Diploma program has introduced me to University life and teaching style, however, it has done so with lots of support and personal attention. QIBT classes are very interactive and have taught me to build an argument and put my opinion forward. QIBT has taught me how to do a formal assignment, not just copy and paste information, but learn the materials and articulate my opinion and argument in an assignment.
What I liked best about QIBT was the friendly and helpful environment. You know all the Professors and most of the students. I also really liked the new building and facilities in the classroom and workshops. If my friends were behind in their studies, the Professor would contact them by email and see if they needed help and make sure they passed.
The lifestyle in Brisbane is friendly, the shopping hours are different and I tried lots of new food. There is plenty of Halal food available for Muslims in Brisbane.

The thing I liked best about QIBT was the multicultural classes, with students coming from all over the world – especially from Asia. I also enjoyed the physical structure, which provides comfortable classrooms, new computer labs, sports facilities, cafeteria, bookshop and a respectable library.
Brisbane has lots of green areas, sunny days, beautiful beaches and plenty of entertainment. The food is wonderful and satisfies all tastes. From the spicy Indian curry to the traditional Japanese sushi, visiting the many restaurants is a delightful way to know different cultures.

I chose to study the Diploma of Hotel Management at QIBT because I can go directly to the second year of the degree at Griffith University upon completion. I am very happy that I will graduate with a Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management from Griffith University as it is renowned all over the world as an excellent degree program. QIBT has an excellent academic environment, strong teaching methods and good facilities such as many computer laboratories. The QIBT program has helped me a lot, for example, the Academic and Skills Development course has taught me how to write academic essays, how to work within groups – all skills essential for studying in an Australian university environment.

I finished the Diploma of Hotel Management in 2006. I continue to take a double degree program at Griffith University, that is, the Bachelor of Hotel Management (Year 2) and the Bachelor of International Business. I wish to work in the management level of the renowned international enterprise or the luxury hotel.
QIBT is a wonderful educational institute which offers me the opportunities to learn the communication skills and gain friendship among different nationalities. The courses matched my interests and I could graduate from the diploma program in a shorter time. The lecturers are excellent and professional. Their guidance helps build my confidence in starting my academic pursuit in Australia and their timely advice helps me overcome the difficulties in doing my assignments and preparing for the tests.
The Diploma Program enables me to learn the professional hospitality skills through lectures, tutorials and practices, especially in the course of Food Production, and Food & Beverage Management. I am sure the knowledge I learned, like the computerized hotel room booking system, and the hand-on experience I gained in the program will serve as a great help to my further pursuit in the business field.

I have never once had a lecturer or a tutor at QIBT who has not been friendly or approachable. You can choose to email them, call them or make appointments and they will respond to all. It’s amazing how the staff at QIBT treat every one of their students as one of their own children; looking out for them at every stage, guiding them and making sure they are on the right track, making sure they are successful and most of all making sure that they manage to complete their pathway to Griffith University as soon as possible.

I am currently working as a Graduate Engineer for Fulton Hogan, a major trans-Tasman civil contracting company. Before coming to Australia I researched all of the universities and found that Griffith offered engineering programs with a variety of study options. I found the program very good in terms of polishing and honing graduate engineers, it also gave me the skills to become a manager in the future.
Students will definitely enjoy their studies at Griffith and acquire knowledge and skills which are useful for future employment. The future for Engineers is very bright in Australia.

There is simply no downside to studying in QIBT. With the same lecturers, standards and environment as undergraduate level courses, we as overseas students will have excellent experience in interacting with other fellow overseas student prior to experiencing university life, which is more complex and has more involvement with native English speakers.
QIBT is definitely the choice to kick start your degree! It has definitely kick started mine!!

My studies at QIBT will lead to qualifications from a well-recognised university. Studying at QIBT has taught me to think laterally and I have learnt skills that I can use in my life outside of the classroom. I have also made friends from all over the world, friends who I will stay in touch with in future.
I enjoy studying at QIBT because I am studying on a university campus with modern facilities. My teachers are of a high standard and they are friendly and helpful. I think the small class sizes are good as I receive more help from my teachers and it is easier to make new friends.

I chose to study the Diploma of Information Technology at QIBT as it is the best pathway to Griffith University. I came to Australia to study high school on the Gold Coast and was disappointed with my results in some of my core subjects. I considered studying at TAFE but then found out about QIBT through a search on the Internet. I chose QIBT over TAFE, due to the fact that I would be studying on a university campus, studying a university designed curriculum and I was guaranteed entry o the second year of Griffith University.
I really enjoyed my study at QIBT – this was largely due to the lecturers who taught me during my course. The QIBT lecturers are all very friendly and as the class sizes are so small, I got to know some of them on a personal level. I have really noticed the difference now that I am at Griffith University – the lecturers have a lot more students and there are not as many opportunities to ask for help! QIBT definitely helped to ease my transition into university life.
The thing I liked most abut QIBT was the 24 hour computer labs. I was often in the labs at all times of the day and night, working on my assessment pieces or surfing the net! The Academic Advisor, Lyn Tracey was so really helpful to me – she gave me excellent advice on my written assignments. I would say she was like a Mother to me. I would advise any student in the same position as me, to never give up! Do your research and definitely consider QIBT. I would also advise international students to make friends as soon as you can as this really helps you to settle into life here. Come to Queensland – it’s the most relaxed and friendly place in the world!

I think Brisbane is similar to Mombasa so it’s easy to settle into life in Brisbane. Brisbane also has good living standards. The QIBT campus is very multicultural and therefore it is easy to make friends.
The small classes at QIBT, combined with the academic and personal support provided to all students, has enabled me to achieve very high grades in my studies.

I chose to study in Brisbane over Sydney and Melbourne because it was quieter, and not as hectic. When I arrived in Brisbane, I knew this was the place I wanted to study as the people are friendly and the weather is great. I enrolled in the Diploma of Information Technology at QIBT and although I was quite nervous at first I soon made friends at QIBT.
With the help of the fantastic teaching staff and lab assistants at QIBT I completed my Diploma in three semesters. After I graduated from QIBT I studied a Bachelor of Information Technology and completed this in just two years!
My education at QIBT enabled me to secure employment with IBM. Initially, I was employed as a Customer Service Officer however now I am proud to say I am the IT Security Analyst & System Administrator. I never expected to be working for a multinational computer technology and consulting corporation immediatley after graduating from university. IBM is a modern exciting work place which will provide me with opportunities to work as an IT specialist throughout the world.
Studying at QIBT gave me the confidence and experience I was looking for and it has allowed me to follow my dreams. I made the right choice by studying at QIBT.

The Diploma program I studied at QIBT is based on the Griffith University Bachelor degree program. This has helped me a lot as I am now studying my Bachelor degree at Griffith University. The things I liked best about QIBT were the opportunity to make friends from different countries, the nice teachers and learning about new basic concepts that I needed to know to study in Australia.

It was my siblings that first gave me the idea to study in Australia. They both had such good experiences I decided to leave Malaysia to study here in Brisbane. When I arrived I knew I’d made a good decision, QIBT offered such a good study environment and it was nice being closer to my family. I decided to study the Diploma of Commerce at QIBT because it allowed me to complete my diploma in one year, and go straight into my second year at Griffith University. It wasn’t even difficult to enroll in my course. Everything was in one building, located on the university campus, so it was always easy to find my way around. When I first began study I was undecided on what majors I should take at University, but QIBT has offered me the chance to try a wide range of subjects, and it’s given me a better idea about what I want to choose. The lecturers here are a great help, and always friendly and professional. They’re available to help you make your decisions about study. Living in Brisbane is really a lot of fun. The three big theme parks are really close by and you can take public transport anywhere. You’re also close to the Gold Coast and the beach. The Australian people are very friendly and everything here is very easy going- even the weather is always nice!

The best thing about studying at QIBT is its friendly and supportive environment. The teaching staff are excellent. Students can ask for help with their assignments during lectures, tutorials, consultation times, e-mails or even during phone calls with their tutors.
In my opinion, in order to achieve good results at university, it is very important to attend classes and complete home work. If students follow this advice they will have a great experience, make new friends and of course, get the necessary knowledge for a successful career!

Accomplishing my Diploma of Commerce at QIBT gave me the confidence and knowledge to go into the second year of a Commerce degree at Griffith University. I was impressed with QIBT’s effective learning environment, friendly and helpful staff, great learning facilities and flexible course structure.
The greatest part of my year was the students and academic staff that I made contact with. The lecturers and tutors were an inspiration and always encouraged me to achieve my goals. They were very approachable and supportive, and delivered the curriculum professionally. I benefited from being able to interact with students from different countries, with different cultural backgrounds and, as a result, I met friends to last a lifetime.

In my country QIBT is very famous for providing a very friendly environment for overseas students. The academic staff at QIBT always encourage the students to express themselves confidently which is an important requirement for our future careers. If wasn’t for the support and encouragement given to me by my lecturers, I would not have been able to get high distinction for all my subjects. Through my Diploma of Commerce program I learnt about structuring assignments, expressing my ideas with confidence and giving presentations. Lectures, tutors and the Academic Advisor were an inspiration and gave me strength to achieve my goals. I have chosen to study the Bachelor of Commerce (double major in Accounting and Finance) at Griffith University. I personally believe that QIBT is an excellent institution to study at and improve students’ career opportunities, because QIBT provides students with the appropriate environment and a flexible study system.

Panitta Sudthitanakorn Thailand I originally wanted to study Hotel Management and Griffith University’s Bachelor of Hotel Management has a very good reputation. I did not meet the entry requirements to enter Griffith University directly so I chose QIBT because their entry requirements were lower, I could complete my Diploma in only eight months, and, after completion of my Diploma, I could enter second year of the Bachelor degree at Griffith University.
Since coming to QIBT, my English has improved because the QIBT campus is very multicultural. QIBT’s friendly environment has helped me make new friends quickly and assist me with my studies as my lecturers are very approachable. The small class sizes at QIBT have also helped me with my studies because I receive a lot of one-on-one help from my lecturers.

There were many things I liked about QIBT. The staff in the QIBT office and the lecturers were nice. They knew how to give a lecture in a simple way. They also helped us to understand further with many real life examples. Moreover, they treated me just like their friend, not their student. I could meet the lecturers anywhere at anytime to ask anything related to the lecture. Another thing I liked about QIBT was the computer labs. They’re available 24/7, just like a 7-Eleven store!
Brisbane was my first and only choice when studying overseas. I completed the QIBT Diploma of Hospitality Management in 2005. I started working for Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers in March 2005. I found out that everything I had studied at QITB was very relevant to my job. The concepts of Hotel Management, reservation making processes and using PMS are what my Diploma taught me and they provided me with a solid foundation for my chosen career. I now work as a Sales Executive and everyday I use the knowledge and experience acquired at QIBT. Thanks to the realistic, useful and up-to-date subjects at QIBT.

Rufaro (Nigel) Katsande Zimbabwe The number of people from all over the world who I have had the opportunity to befriend and know through QIBT is something that I especially appreciate. Not only did I learn things through lectures and books but I learnt about people, which is one skill more valuable than any other.
QIBT is not just an institution to me, it is a community, a home away from home, and this closeness and comfort is something I shall miss.
