International StudentsIf you are an International Student and you are interested in studying one of QIBT's programs, you will need to consider the following information before submitting your application:

International Students also need to be aware of the following Australian Government Regulations when applying to study at QIBT:

Apply for Student Visa

Prospective international students intending to study in Australia must obtain a Student Visa from an Australian Diplomatic Mission in their home country before embarking for Australia.

Documentation that you require from QIBT before you can apply for a Student Visa is:

  • Letters of Offer from QIBT and Griffith University
  • an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment from QIBT and Griffith University after the respective fees and charges have been paid.

For more detailed information about applying for a Student Visa and obtaining Student Visa Application Forms you should visit the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs website www.immi.gov.au

Please note: students who apply through an in-country QIBT Representative/Agent will receive assistance regarding the student visa application process.

Applying for a Work Permit

International students may work up to twenty hours per week while studying in Australia and forty hours per week during semester breaks. Due to Queensland's large tourism industry, work opportunities are reasonable in Brisbane - particularly during the summer break in December and January.

Students can only begin work after their program commencement date. Please visit the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs website for detailed information.
