justice_200x400.jpgCriminology involves the study of the complex issues of crime and criminal justice. Criminologists work in federal and state justice agencies such as research and statistics institutes, police and courts. Correctional authorities also employ criminologists as researchers, assessors and policy advisers whilst others are in private practice providing consulting services for law reform, justice, forensic psychology, behavioural science, or crime statistics. Griffith University was one of the pioneers of the criminology degree in Australia and provides students with a smarter path to a wide range of career opportunities in the criminal justice system.

The Diploma of Criminology and Criminal Justice is designed to be a pathway program for international students to the Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Griffith University.   The program will essentially mirror first year of the degree and aims to introduce students to the basic fundamentals of criminal justice within a supportive learning environment.

On successful completion, graduates can articulate to the Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice selecting one of the five majors:  Corrections, Criminal Justice, Crime Prevention, Crime and Justice Research or Police Studies.
