Cultural support network Print E-mail

Cultural Support NetworkAim: to introduce students to one another in a relaxed, friendly and open minded environment.

Purpose: to assist and support individuals emotionally and socially while studying at QIBT and to provide an avenue for students from similar cultures to meet new friends and settle into the Australian way of life.

How: The Welfare Advisor or similar advertises to establish cultural groups at the beginning of each semester.

When: Cultural groups meet approximately 3 times throughout the semester and all cultural groups are invited to participate.

What: Cultural groups are self motivating and self administered groups. Cultural groups are responsible for organising their own events, outings and gatherings outside of the platform organised by QIBT.

Who: Any QIBT student who wishes to take part and identifies with a particular cultural grouping.

The cultural groups are divided into the following geographic areas:

  1. Australia, Oceania, Pacific, Europe, British Isles, Americas
  2. Africa
  3. Middle East
  4. Asia including India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan
If you would like to be involved in this exciting new initiative, please contact the QIBT Welfare Advisor to register your interest.
