We understand that for students, the main reason they are in Australia is to study. However, participating in extra-curricular activities and getting out and about is important too. QIBT encourages you to interact and enjoy your experience by taking a break from your studies and having some fun and participating in extra-curricular activities. By being involved in non-academic interests whilst studying you will be able to develop a network of friends and to broaden your outlook and skills.

Day Trips & Excursions

QIBT in conjunction with the Australian College of English (ACE) coordinate day trips and excursions to Brisbane and it’s surrounds throughout the semester. This is a great opportunity for students to see a little more of Queensland, meet other students and have fun.

Bookings can be made at the QIBT office. Please note that there is a limit on the number of people allowed for each trip, so register early!

Griffith University Campus Life

In addition, Griffith University Campus Life organises various events and activities throughout the semester. These include social sporting matches, free movie nights and lunchtime table tennis competitions. QIBT students are encouraged to participate and enjoy these activities.

Griffith University Vietnamese Students Association (GUVSA)

GUVSA is an association of Vietnamese students in Brisbane with a shared interest in Vietnam and Vietnamese culture. Their mission is to provide helpful study and living information and a network of friends to share experiences and new skills with.

Events, Activities and Adventures

You can also join a variety of events, activities and adventures (for example, skydiving and whale watching) organised by numerous clubs and societies in Brisbane. From recreation to religion, from sport to politics, they cater to every interest.
